WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT WOOD JEWELRY

We’re more than a little proud that Heavy Stone is known as America’s #1 manufacturer of durable wood wedding bands. Hypoallergenic, wood accents make beautiful ring inlays and sleeves. We’re even able to create “infinity” looks – bringing the wood to the very edge of the piece in an overlay. With proper care, especially avoiding prolonged exposure to water, our wood holds up well and is covered under our warranty.

Heavy Stone offers 18 wood species, from beautiful black Texas Ebony to chestnut Hawaiian Koa. We look for varieties that tell strong local stories and add stunning texture and color to a piece’s overall design. We also encourage customers to submit their own wood – be it a piece of Grandpa’s workbench, an important tree in Mom and Dad’s backyard, or a sliver of a hometown stadium. It’s important to to know that natural materials are just that – natural. Each piece will vary slightly in color and texture, which we think is what actually makes them so cool.

To send in your own wood | ask for an ra# from our custom success team.

WHAT IS BURL WOOD | Burl is a special grain pattern that appears swirling, knotted, or kaleidoscopic. It is found on the roots, curled branches, or rounded “warts” of Oak, Maple, Walnut, Ash, Cherry, and Redwood trees. Burl wood comes in many colors and is generally more expensive because of its beauty and scarcity.
